September 15 ••• Saturday ••• The Old Colorado City History Center invites you join in the fun of the “Haunted Histories of Old Colorado City.” Start autumn by visiting the permanent residents of Fairview Cemetery. There’s murder, lost love, poisoning, and gruesome accidents. Learn the real stories of Old Colorado City’s settlers. Guided one-hour tours begin every fifteen minutes from 6:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. Advance reservations are required. Call 719-636-1225. Tickets cost $20.00 each. This event supports local history education! “Learn the history and live the fun!” OCCHS is located at 1 S. 24th Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80904.

September 20 ••• Thursday ••• The Palmer Lake Historical Society presents “The Harvey Girls Story” by Jane Milne (presenter of “Orphan Train”) and Kathy DeHerrera. The Harvey Girls came to be known as the women who tamed the West. Fred Harvey saw the opportunity to provide dining services along the route of the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad. A pioneer in hiring women, the Harvey Girls would become a signature component of his successful Harvey Houses and one of his most enduring legacies. Come join us for a great evening! Events and programs are held in the Palmer Lake Town Hall, 28 Valley Crescent, Palmer Lake, CO 80103.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; program begins at 7:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served after the presentation.  Palmer Lake Historical Society events and programs are free and open to all.  Visit palmerdividehistory.org for more information.
